These vocabulary terms were very familiar to me as I have worked in the corporate business sector for twenty years. I found it fascinating, and surprising with how common these terms cross pollinate with the human service sector.

Calendar
I utilize several tools for time tracking. I have a calendar on my phone, I have a desk calendar, and now a digital calendar that I just created. Having a time tracker always keeps me in line with my daily and weekly goals. It keeps me accountable for the tasks that I need to do for myself, for work and for fun! I love to be able to cross off the items on my list, it brings the feeling of satisfaction of having accomplished something, or everything that I set out to do daily.
Artifact 4.3 - EFFECTIVE MEETING CERTIFICATES
March 3, 2024
I am always seeking out opportunities to strengthen my professional and leadership skills. I am grateful to have participated in the training provided by NonprofitReady.org that advanced my skills in both planning and running meetings. The tools and knowledge that I learned through obtaining this certification has taught me the importance of having a clear, purposeful and structured agenda while planning a meeting. It has also taught me to manage an effective meeting by staying focused on the meeting agenda, pausing if a debate occurs to revisit it at another time, and to ensure that everyone understands that opinions and suggestions are important to hear related to the agenda topics.
Artifact 5.1 - SWOT analysis
MARCH 21, 2024
In creating a SWOT Analysis for my future career preparation in clinical therapy I discovered strengths within myself that I had not seen before. I also discovered weaknesses that I know I will need to pay close attention to, specifically emotional involvement with future clients. I have a lot of love and care for individuals, and I tend to take on their circumstances emotionally and not balance out the self-care portion that is needed to refuel myself for me to be able to be of service. I can see where I would need to act differently with the level of connection I have with a client.
With there being several internal and external factors that can deeply improve or hinder my professional career within clinical therapy I find it most imperative to be knowledgeable not only in mental health skills and techniques, but also to always strive to stay informed on economics, laws and industry standards that can change often. This will allow me to be successful as a clinical therapist for myself and for my future clients.

Healing Hearts:
An Ode to Nonprofit
Healing Hearts:
An Ode to Nonprofit
by: Nicolette Hamilton
Mending hearts with care, we guide,
Easing burdens, fears subside,
Nurturing souls, where hope abides,
Tending wounds with love, we confide.
Hope's beacon shining bright,
Organized systems our guiding light,
Processes in need find respite,
Lifting spirits, day and night.
Navigating paths unknown,
Offering solace, not alone,
Professional council of empathy shown,
Inspiring growth, each heart we've sewn,
Traversing journeys, not disowned.
Premium points: Virtual Conference

SESSION C: Intern PresentationS
During this session I was honored to volunteer as a moderator to assist the interns presenting. One intern highlighted the importance of supporting individuals with mental illnesses through online resources and wellness checks. Another showcased the power of engaging parents and educators in fun educational activities to support children's learning. Another emphasized community outreach to raise awareness about available programs, expanding opportunities for involvement and support. Finally, one focused on helping homeless individuals access local resources, demonstrating the practical impact of providing information and support in challenging situations. During this session, I learned the importance of proactive outreach and community engagement in addressing various needs and supporting individuals in improving their lives.
FAMILY STUDIES
VIRTUAL CONFERENCE 2024
SESSION C: Intern PresentationS
SESSION A: Intern PresentationS
During a recent presentation, interns shared insights from various organizations. One highlighted the benefits of YMCA for families, another focused on improving parental engagement at Carlisle ISD. Another participated in the Houston Food Bank backpack buddy program, emphasizing compassion for those in need. Another showcased community involvement in education through events like "love for learning," while another emphasized the effectiveness of newsletters in keeping parents engaged and informed at an Elementary School. One key takeaway was the importance of community involvement, compassion, and effective communication in supporting children's education and well-being.
Interns shared impactful initiatives from their experiences: one created a journal series aiding psychotherapy for youth, another used social media for parent communication at an elementary school, and the last addressed resource disparities impact on youth well-being. These presentations highlighted innovative approaches and insights crucial for youth support. These presentations showed me the importance of the multifaceted nature of youth support, showcasing innovative approaches and critical insights for their well-being and success.
Artifact 7.3 - collaboration partner readiness
April 16, 2024
I had the opportunity to personally review where my collaborative partner readiness has developed. The Individual Collaboration Factors Inventory, based on The Fieldstone Alliance’s Wilder Collaboration Factors Inventory (Harley-McClaskey, 2017, pp. 298-303), asks a series of self-reflection questions that allowed me to gage my strengths and weaknesses specific to leadership and collaboration.
Upon answering the questions with honesty for a true evaluation, I found myself, as expected, to be mostly in agreement, opposed to strong agreement, when it comes to collaborating with others, where I desire to be inclusive and unified in all areas of my life. However, I was a bit surprised at how I evaluated my own personal skills and qualifications. I scored myself as definitely room for improvement on increasing the perception of my value and how my talents and skills can be a tool to serve others. It is vulnerable to self-reflect, where you may find yourself in the extremes of humility, egotistical, confident or lack of confidence. I found that my results balanced in the neutral zone, which seems to be between humility and lack of confidence. I am grateful for this recognition. I am now aware of the work I can do to improve in this area. I believe having confidence in your own abilities is vital to being ready to hold a position of collaboration and leadership.
The strategies I will use to improve my confidence within readiness is to create a list of my accomplishments, my successes, my educational qualifications and my personal characteristics that compliment an individual in leadership. A second strategy that would be of great value will be to expand my network of individuals within my professional human services field who will mentor, support, and cheer me on through my own process.

Where I Go From Here
(Verse 1)
Well, I've learned a thing or two, let me tell you what I know,
About defusing workplace drama and making deadlines glow.
With time management skills, I'm a task-master pro,
Planning those meetings, it’s all part of my flow?
(Chorus)
Oh, Where will I go?
Oh, where will I roam?
In the world of mental health,
I'll find my home.
Internships are where I start, I know my future is bright,
Then, off to grad school I go, oh what a delight!
(Verse 2)
My SWOT analysis showed me where my strengths lie,
In the mental health field, I'll spread my wings and fly.
But I won't forget the value of giving back, you see,
In nonprofits and community service, that's where I'll also be!
(Chorus)
Oh, Where will I go?
Oh, where will I roam?
In the world of mental health,
I'll find my home.
Internships are where I start, I know my future is bright,
Then, off to grad school, oh what a delight!
(Bridge)
As a collaborative partner, I'll thrive and I'll excel,
With every challenge that comes my way, I'll ring the victory bell.
So here's to the future, with its twists and its bends,
With all that I've learned, I’ll be able to solve these conflict trends!
(Chorus)
Oh, Where will I go?
Oh, where will I roam?
In the world of mental health,
I'll find my home.
Internships are where I start, I know my future is bright,
Then, off to grad school, oh what a delight!
(Outro)
So cheers to learning, and self-developing every single day,
With these skills in my pocket, I'll be paving my own way.
Wherever I end up, I'll give it my all,
For with these tools and talents, there’s no way that I’ll fall!
